Anti-fungal medicine: Treatments for a yeast infection range from otc anti-fungal vaginal creams (monistat, lotrimin, (clotrimazole) etc) to prescription vaginal creams to prescription oral anti-fungal medicines. Talking with your doctor may be helpful to decide which is right in this case.

MD evaluation.: Yeast infections in children should be evaluated by a physician to determine the appropriate treatment. Otc antifungal creams, while potentially effective, are designed and dosed for adults, not children. Further, evaluation will help identify any potential problems putting the child at risk for yeast infection.
