Why does alcohol abuse make the skin pale?

Several reasons:: It causes blood loss in the stomach, it suppresses appetite for real food (vitamin deficiencies are very common in alcoholics), and it causes unhealthy fat gain.

Diet & Sun: Alcoholics tend to stay indoors. They also lack vitamin B6 and B12 due to gastritis and poor diet. They are often anemic and frequently have liver disease that causes the skin to be pale. They frequently are malnourished as many times their major calorie intake is from alcohol. They also tend to be heavy smokers which causes problems in all the systems.
