In general: High e2 early in the cycle, such as on d3, is often related to a persistent hormonally active functional cyst. These are usually left over form the cycle before, and 95% or so go away on their own. An ultrasound is the best way to make this diagnosis but is not always necessary. Ask you gyn doc for more info.
