What happens when a person swallows a piece of eraser or gum?

Probably no issues: The eraser or gum most likely will be passed through the gastrointestinal tract and you should be fine. If you do experience any constipation or abdominal pain then consult your md. Another more serious potential problem is that the objects become dislodged in your lung. If you experience any shortness of breath, wheezing or difficulty breathing go straight to the er.

It will pass: Most of the time these structures will pass through the GI system, however, if you develop symptoms see your doctor.
