8 foods 90% cases: Food allergies are due to allergic antibodies (ige) to food proteins. Up to 10% of the population have ige to a food but eat it without problem as they don't absorb intact food protien that can bind with the ige to produce a reaction. Food allergic people make ige and absorb the intact proteins. Milk, egg, wheat, soy, bony fish, shell fish, tree nuts, peanut account for 90% of food allergies.
