No: While nausea and vomiting early in pregnancy are very common, for most women these symptoms are relatively mild and tend to resolve by about 12 weeks. "severe" vomiting may represent hyperemesis gravidarum, which can result in dehydration and necessitate hospitalization in some cases. You should contact your doctor if you have continuing or severe vomiting.

Not if severe: Nausea & vomiting are common during pregnancy. However, if it is severe and you can't keep down any fluids- you could become dehydrated. Please let your doctor/ obstetrician know.
