Decay and stain: Meth mouth is just a name for advanced decay of the teeth that was caused by using meth and the usual associated diet of meth users. Meth users usually get a lot of decay at the gum line of the teeth.

Root surface decay: Meth mouth is a relatively new term in dentistry. Meth dries out the mouth by inhibiting the production/release of saliva. Mouth becomes more acidic from this. Appetite suppressant side effects of meth also cause more consumption soda/candy and the like for energy. Enamel/dentinal decay happens at the later stages and can be very rapidly and very extensively.
