Not clear: Failure rate of the withdrawal method (pull-out method) is 15-30%; averaging about 25% (1 in 4). However, I am not aware of any studies evaluating it during ovulation; i suspect it might be higher. While the withdrawal method may be successful with the right partner, it takes a responsible couple to utilize this method to make it an effective choice. Consider avoiding sex while ovulating also.
