Plaque: Biofilms usually refer to bacterial accumulation in water lines. Biofilms such as bacterial plaque on teeth will cause many problems. An accumulation of bad bacteria anywhere in your body is a bad thing. Strep mutans accumulating on your teeth allow them to secrete acids that degrade your tooth enamel and ultimately create decay.
