General : Anesthesia doesn't cause numbeness. You were probably injected with local anesthesia as well and that should last a few hours.

Wrong question: If you received a local anesthetic for extraction of wisdom teeth, you will be numb for 1-2 hours afterwards. General anesthesia (going to sleep) is also administered in come cases of wisdom tooth extractions but usually does not cause numbness of any part of the body.

Varies: Some local anesthetics wear off within 30 minutes, while other are specifically designed to be active for up to 20 hours. It depends on the type and location of the drug. Talk to your anesthesiologist or dentist about medications that they will use.
