Removal Recommended: The biggest risk is miscarriage on removal and sepsis & late miscarriage if left in-situ. This actually happens more than you think. The recommendation is to first document a viable pregnancy, remove it asap if easy to reach, & leave it if strings or device are not visible. If it has to stay, most proceed to term & "no" your baby will not have an iud stuck to its head. Best of luck to you.
