What does it feel like when you have an air embolism ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Shortness of breath: Air embolism occurs very rarely. It occurs when air gets directly into one of your veins. Most commonly, this occurs when some type of IV catheter is in place and becomes disconnected. It can also occur after severe chest trauma in which the lung is actually lacerated. The symptoms of this condition include acute shortness of breath, and occasionally chest pain.
