Low potassium: The first issue is finding out why you have a low potassium level . Usually its due to medications such as diuretic(water pills) used to treat blood pressure . In some cases it may be due to hormonal imbalance where your kidneys spill too much in the urine . Diets rich in fruits and vegtables can increase potassium as can pills

Conn's syndrome?: Do you have conn's syndrome, where you excrete too much potassium through your kidneys? If so, you simply need to take extra potassium pills. This should be done in consultation and supervision by your doctor, as too much potassium can be more dangerous than too little, in fact it can be fatal! if you are taking diuretics, you may need to take more potassium pills, consult with your physician.
