Benadryl (diphenhydramine): I would not recommend Benadryl (diphenhydramine) d for your 3 year old. Don't get me wrong, . Plain Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is a good medication to treat allergy but the "d" in it is a decongestant that has been proven to have no benefit for children who have nasal or chest congestion. You do not need to cause its bad side-effect complicating your achild's illness.
