Yes: There can be back pain in pregnancy due to alteration of load across the lower back and changes of the back' s mechanics with changes in the pelvis related to horomonal issues & body shape as well as weight gain. There is an increase in the sway or lordosis of the lower back as the baby grows altering the center of gravity or even the baby placing direct pressure on structures of the spine.

Yes: When pregnant a hormone is released that causes the ligaments to loosen. This can lead to low back and pelvic pain as there are lots of ligaments holding the spine and pelvis together. See your physician if your pain lasts greater than 2 weeks.
