Yes: One of the beneficial effects of fish oil is its content of eicosapentaneoic acid (epa) and it does indeed reduce triglycerides. But it does not "take you off the hook" sugar is the underlyhing cause of high triglycerides so i assume that that was included in your change of diet.

It was the fish oil: It has been shown that fish oil will lower the triglyceride. Thats the agent in lovaza.
