Pregnancy and LBP: Not unusual to have some back pain during pregnancy especially later in the pregnancy due to changes in center of gravity and postural changes. Should not be severe. Should be relieved by changing positions such as sitting down.

Yes: When pregnant a hormone is released that causes the ligaments to loosen. This can lead to low back and pelvic pain as there are lots of ligaments holding the spine and pelvis together. See your physician if your pain lasts greater than 2 weeks.
