Endoscopy: Complications rate is very low(less than 1%) but includes aspiration, perforation , bleeding, infection , missed findings , reaction to sedation including death. As stated, complications are rare. They should be discussed with you by the person performing the examination. Risks & benefits are discussed prior to the examination. This is referred to as "informed consent .".
