In many women: It may not go away , it will just stay there and depending on what subtype which your gyn can find out it may or may not make the pap smear worse.

Why do people/doctors say HPV can sometimes clear up on its own? Dont they mean HPV can lay dormant. Viruses never just go away! can't rid a virus.
