Well...: Depending on age, skin quality and degree of stretch it will likely get better on its own. While there are various non-surgical skin tightening remedies out there removing the stretched out skin is still the most reliable.

Its variable: The best way in general is a true abdominoplasty where your abdomenal wall is also addressed. If there is not too much loose skin, circumferential liposuction can cause some contraction. If there is minimal excess skin then some noninvasive modalities like external infrared heating of the dermis can deliver good results.

Abdominoplasty: Tummy tuck or abdominoplasty is usually what is needed to tighten loose skin after pregnancy. Some of the skin will recoil in the first few months, but skin with a lot of stretch marks likely won't fully recoil. Visit a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss this further. Use the find a surgeon tab plasticsurgery.Org.

Tummy Tuck: Your tummy should be back to normal around 3 months after your delivery. A good diet and exercise program is the best way to reclaim your pre-pregnancy figure. If your skin stretched and has not shrunk back down you may be a candidate for a tummy tuck where the excess skin is removed and the abdominal muscles are tightened. I wait 6 months after a c-section to perform a tummy tuck.
