Various things: Using a donut shaped cushion can relieve pressure on the area when sitting. A sitz bath (a device you can get from a drug store or medical supply) can be used on your toilet to circulate warm water in the area, and it can be soothing. Coccydynia.: This sounds like coccydynia, which is a pain in the tail bone which occurs after sitting on a hard surface for a long time or from falling onto your tail bone onto a hard surface. Can take a long time to heal up. You can try sitting on a "donut", that soft cushion with a hole in the middle that you find at the surgical supply stores. Anti inflammatories and heat may help.
