Various things: Using a donut shaped cushion can relieve pressure on the area when sitting. A sitz bath (a device you can get from a drug store or medical supply) can be used on your toilet to circulate warm water in the area, and it can be soothing. Over the counter pain relievers may help. If simple measures fail, see your primary. You may needs testing. Pain is this area is a challenge.

Coccydynia.: This sounds like coccydynia, which is a pain in the tail bone which occurs after sitting on a hard surface for a long time or from falling onto your tail bone onto a hard surface. Can take a long time to heal up. You can try sitting on a "donut", that soft cushion with a hole in the middle that you find at the surgical supply stores. Anti inflammatories and heat may help.
