Patients may pass proglottids (tapeworm body segments) in the stool or sense the movement of proglottids through the anus. Some possible associated symptoms include nausea, loss of appetite, or pain over the stomach area. Anxiety, headache, dizziness, and hives may also result.

Tape worms: Many people who have tapeworms have no symptoms other than seeing worms squiggling about when they have a bowel movement. Possible symptoms/ signs include: weight loss, loss of appetite or the opposite (hunger), nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and lethargy. It can lead to loss of important vitamins ; minerals. Serious complications can occur however.
