Does a pacemaker/defibrillator cure dilated cardiomyopathy?

Not usually.: An icd (defibrillator) may rescue you from cardiac arrest, which is a risk one carries with cardiomyopathy - but it doesn't cure cardiomyopathy. A bi-ventricular pacemaker (or biv-icd) may reverse some of the cardiomyopathy, but not always.

Depends: A usual pacmaker has one or two leads and provides beats to heart that beats too slow. A defibrillator does not do much most of the time except when a patient has sudden cardiac arrest, it provides life saving shock. There is a special kind of pacemaker called 'biventricular pacemaker' with three leads that can sometimes improve symptoms of heart failure and sometimes improve heart function.
