May be a cold sore: It sounds like you may have a cold sore. These are caused by a virus in the herpes family. Less likely, you may have an allergic reaction to something that touched your lips. If there is pain or tingling, it would suggest a cold sore. Only itching would lean more towards an allergic reaction.

May be a cold sore: It sounds like you have a cold sore that is caused by a virus in the herpes family. If you feel any burning, pain or tingling in the area, then it is most likely so. Another less likely cause, may be an allergic reaction to something that touched your lips. If so, you would feel more of an itch.
