A member asked:

Why does booze do that and how do i stop bloodshot eyes from being red after i drink?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Vasodilation: Alcohol is a vasodilator - that means it opens up blood vessels and increases blood flow, especially to superficial tissues like skin and the conjunctivae of the eyes. Some people, especially of asian or native american background, have even more tendency to flush after drinking. There is no way to stop it. If it is bothering you, and you can't stop, you need to talk to your md or a counselor.
