Probably real: If you had regular periods before the Depo-Provera it can take up to 18 months for ovulation to 'come back', but it's usually less than a year. You ovulation test was probably accurate - false positives are uncommon. If it's a real positive you should have a period or be pregnant about two weeks later. You should do a pregnancy test if no period comes. If you stay irregular see an ob/gyn or a rei doctor.

I can help: The way that you worded your questions is slightly confusing. Coming off of the Depo-Provera shot is associated with some residual cycle irregularity. This might lead to a lower chance for pregnancy within the first year. The ovulation predictor kits are very accurate. They detect a surge in a hormone called lh. This is closely associated with ovulation and helps in timing intercourse.
