What can be done for mastoiditis ?

Dr. David Kam answered

Depends: Acute mastoiditis can be treated with myringotomy and tube placement on the ipsilateral ear drum to allow drainage. Antibiotic given intravenously, by mouth and/or via antibiotic drops are commonly used depending on how ill the patient is. Mastoidectomy can be performed in patient not responding to the aforementioned treatment.
