Neurologic condition: Cauda equina syndrome refers to loss of function of the nerve roots of the spinal canal below the termination (conus medullaris) of the spinal cord. Signs include weakness of the muscles of the lower extremeties, bladder muscle weaknesses causing urinary retention and incontinence, and decreased anal tone and consequent fecal incontinence. Treatment depends upon the cause. Please see your doc!
