Shop around: Make sure your insurance covers the procedure, then make sure both the doctor and the facility where the procedure will be performed are covered, as well as all the ancillary services that they require - psychological evaluation, nutritionist etc. Sounds that this operation will do you well, good luck!

How can I manage my asthma and allergies while i'm pregnant?

Obstetrics and Gynecology 26 years experience
Multiple ways: Asthma during pregnancy: 30% of paitents worsen, 30% stay the same, and 30% improve. Treat and manage your asthma the same as if you weren't pregnant. Try to avoid allergens and triggers for allergies and asthma. Using a peak flow meter may help you to gauge teh severity of your symptoms. You should definitely get the flu shot during flu season. Many meds are safe to use--just consult your ob.

Do children with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis have to limit activities?

Only within reason: Patients with jra should avoid high impact activities such as running and are better to pursue non-impact sports such as swimming, bike riding, cross country skiing, etc. There have been however remarkable advances in treatment by dmards (disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs)that modify the body's response to infection and disease and may thereby allow unrestricted sport.
