No: The fear of litter boxes is due to "toxo"--or toxoplasmosis, an infection transmitted through cat feces. The truth is, more cases of toxo are caused by gardening than cats! if your cat is a 100% indoor cat, you can 1) screen your cat for toxo with your vet, and 2) when it's negative 3) make your husband change the litter box...Or, take comfort, and change it yourself.

No: And really you don't have to avoid it while pregnant either. Toxoplasmosis is most commonly caused by undercooked meat and outdoor cats. If your cat does not go outdoors then you should be ok.

No: The concern is toxoplasmosis, which can be very harmful to a fetus. Cats are part of the life cycle of these organisms and their "eggs" can be in the stool of the animal, which then get inhaled from stirring up the dried feces. Indoor cats will not have been exposed. Digging in the garden is more dangerous. It is not a serious threat to grown people, however.
