Can you catch hpv from borrowing a bathing suit from an infected person?

Unlikely? Possibly?: Hpv is presumed to survive a short time outside the infected person, so if a swimsuit comes off an infected person and goes immediately onto a second person, it makes sense that the second person can catch the hpv. If a swimsuit goes in the washer/dryer before the second person wears it, the second person is safe. If a swimsuit isn't washed but just hung up to dry, possibly hpv lives hours? Days?

Genital Warts: No! the types of hpv that cause genital warts, abnormal cervical cells and/or cervical cancer are spread from person to person through sex or intimate skin-to-skin (genital) contact. Condoms do provide some protection; however, they cannot prevent infection completely because they do not cover all areas of the genital region.
