A member asked:

How frequently should we check if potassium is high?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Need more info: Potassium level depends on how much potassium you eat or drink since we do not generate potassium. It also leaves the body in the urine and stool. If your kidney function is normal, you should not have to check potassium levels. It will correct eventually. If you have kidney disease or severe constipation and cannot control yourself from eating high potassium foods, i would check more often.
