Ask your doctor: In general, non-steroidal anti-inflammatories ("nsaids" like ibuprofen, naproxen) are common treatments for sle joint pains. Prednisone is helpful in cases of swollen and warm joints. Nsaids can also be applied topically. Other possible otc drugs include omega 3 fatty acid supplements and tylenol (acetaminophen). All these can have side effects and toxicity so it's important to discuss with your doctor.
