Hello...i am 36 weeks pregnant and i saw a mouse in our kitchen. we have since caught it and disinfected the house. am i at a real risk from lcmv?

Relax.: If you were never bitten or exposed to mice droppings (by contaminated hands or otherwise) you should be fine.

Good question: Congenital lcm infection is an under appreciated cause of intrauterine infection. Not all cases reported had really close contact with the rodent or its secretions but severe cases of infection in the fetus are ones acquired in the first trimester. Baby should be fine. Let me know.
