Chemo: Regular cyotoxic chemo kills rapid growing cells like cancer cells. However normal cells with relatively faster turnover like blood cells, hair and cells that lining the gastrointestinal tract can be also killed as a side effect of chemo. Thus, diarrhea and transient food malabsorption can happen following administration of particular chemo. Not all cancer therapy cause GI problems.
