Typically: Children eat like a horse drink like a fish and lose weight rapidly...Like 10 pounds in a week for type 1 diabetes. Being overweight can lead to type 2 diabetes. A rash on the neck that looks like dirt and does not wash off is a precursor to type 2 diabetes. If concerned see your doctor as it is easily determined by a blood test.

Drinking and peeing: The hallmark of type 1 diabetes, the most common form of diabetes in kids, is being very thirsty because of fluid loss through frequent urination, including overnight. There may also be increase in appetite with weight loss. Further into this, one might experience nausea, vomiting, rapid breathing, and abdominal pain before treatment with Insulin begins.
