A member asked:

I have an intolerance to hormone in the pill.what else can i use instead of the pill? do all types of birth control have the same hormone in them?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Single or nonhormone: Many women are sensitive to the one or both of the hormones in the pill. All hormonal birth control have a variant of the same hormones- estrogen and/or progesterone. If you are specifically sensitive to estrogen, then try a Progesterone only option- pill, implant, or iud. If you are sensitive to both then a nonhormonal iud. Please remember that only condoms help protect against stds & pregnancy.
