Pain in joints: Some types of arthritis might run in the family. However, that does not mean a person cannot do things to delay onset or decrease the effect. Start by getting a family history. Take that to a primary care provider for consultation and examination. Ask for a list of activities to avoid and for things to do for prevention. If needed, ask for a referral to a rheumatologist.

Joint pain most oft!: Joint pain in one are more joints is the most common sign. Joint damage do to trauma can be said preventable, and damage to joints because of obesity is certainly preventable. Smoking is a major factor in causation of spine disc disease, clearly preventable. But most inflammatory types of arthritis are not. Some have a strong hereditary nature and you can't change your genetics.
