Depo: Abnormal bleeding with depo in the major side effect. While the depo in no longer appropriate for contraception, depo remains and is not totally cleared from your system for up to one year post last injection. Abnormal bleeding may still occur, until your body totally clears the depo. Utilization of another means of contraception is important here.
