Neurological problem: Since ms is neurologic disorder that can effect all motor and sensory functions of the body, this problem can be a significant issue. Maybe identifying when this occurs and if it seems more prevelant at night during sleep, a sleep test and/or a sonic pharyngometer can determine if sleep disturbances are at play that can be managed with treatment.

Uncover cause: It is unlikely that the MS is the main culprit here, and you could have GERD or sinusitis promoting this issue. Typically, swallowing issues in MS are late, within a downhill secondary progressive trend subsequent to medication failure. An evaluation by a speech therapist , and a Barium swallow can help arrive at answers.
