Hand: Hands 'lock up' at the finger joints due to arthritis. Some people have muscle cramps in the hands from nerve problems.

Maybe trigger finger: It's hard to tell without seeing you in person, but trigger fingers or arthritis cause what you are describing. Depends on where in your hand you're feeling the locking. See a hand surgeon who can examine you and get x-rays. Good luck!
