The fire is out: Now you need to rebuild. Stopping smoking is like putting out a house fire. The house is still burned, and some of it can be rebuilt. That takes months to years depending upon how you measure lung function. Some damage cannot be undone, but it can definitely be worse if you keep smoking. Congrats on accomplishing the single best thing you could to improve your short and long term health.
