See doctor...: Coughing up blood, called hemoptysis, is usually due to bronchitis. However, it can also be due to malignancy. So, you need to see your doctor to rule out malignancy and treat the underlying disorder. The bronchitis from last january may be unrelated. If you are a smoker, you need to quit to decrease airway inflammation. If you are short of breath or coughing a lot of blood, go to the er.
