Topical THC: For best bioavailability, the thc in marijuana must be ingested or volatilized in smoke. If the "touching" is extensive i suppose it would be possible for some plant oils to be absorbed through your skin. (this can certainly happen when harvesting tobacco crops, for instance.) if it's a brief touch of dried material only though, it should be a non-existent or negligible level.

Transdermal THC: Agree with Dr. Pappas. It can be placed in a vehicle for topical delivery (limited). It would probably require significant handling to absorb through touching plants (such as people who harvest cannabis).
