Could be from the pi: There are many reasons spotting can occur before a menstrual period. A common reason is birth control- it is not uncommon for a cycle or two after starting a new pill to have some spotting between periods. With some pills, particularly very low estrogen pills this can persist. If this continues, it would be worth a visit to your doctor to determine the cause, and change pills if needed.
