Otitis media pain: A pain reliever like Ibuprofen can be very helpful for the pain of an ear infection. Continue any oral and/ or topical antibiotics unless the course is completed. See your doctor if pain persists or worsens despite taking recommended medications.

Take Pain Meds: You can take over the counter Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Ibuprofen for pain till you see your doctor or get a prescription for stronger pain reliever from your doctor like codeine or something else As long as you are being treated with appropriate antibiotics the pain will get better as treatment becomes effective
