Toned down: 1st of all, the quality of life and overall health of most pancreatic transplant patients are dramatically better than their pre transplant state. That being said, unless you have a perfect match, immuno suppressants are needed for you to live with the transplanted organ. Your immunity will not be optimal but should be manageable if you take proper precautioins.
