Pimples: For long lasting residual scars or red marks from acne, there's no great otc or prescription cream or pill that works consistently. Many times these blemishes can be helped by laser treatment. I'd talk with your local dermatologist about options.

Redness from acne: The red "spots" left behind aftrer the acne lesion has gone away can take weeks or months to resolve. Sunscreen during this period is essential to help speed up the process. Mederma topically may also provide some benefit. But i tell my patients that they have to be patient. If they do not want to be patient the only option is laser, such as the pulsed dye or ipl.
