Ask your Oncologist: Life expectancy & treatment options are best addressed by your oncologist when it comes to cancer. It's never a bad idea to get a 2nd opinion if possible. Some folks like to get a 3rd opinion but at some point, someone will tell you what you want to hear. That's when you need to be careful. Yes, i believe in miracles, but not at expense of someone else. In other words, don't pay for miracles.

Lung Mets signet ca : Stage 4 metastatic cancer with signet ring cell features likely originating in the GI tract without therapy, few months. With chemotherapy also given with a palliative intent, average survival 9-12 months. The biology of the tumor dictates the final outcome. We need to know the primary site before we recommend a specific chemoregimen.

Check EGFR and ALK: Very important to check for egfr mutations and alk re-arrangements, since there are medications that are very effective to treat cancers that are positive for these mutations. As far as prognosis, a 42 year old tends to have a better prognosis than the average patient and in patients with egfr mutations or alk it goes up to 24 to 30 months or more.
