Possibly both: Flaxseed is the seed of the flax plant. It is usually considered a phytoestrogen, a plant substance with properties similar to estrogen, but in young women with high estrogen, some phytoestrogens (soy, for example) may act as a anti-estrogen. Testosterone is the primary hormone of men (like estrogen is the primary hormone of women). Women, however, do make small amounts of it too in their ovaries.
